Most Clay agencies are excellent at one of two things: running campaigns and outbound for you, or configuring Clay and handing back lists. Both leave the capability with the agency. The harder, rarer thing is engineering Clay into an owned revenue machine on your own data that keeps running when the engagement ends. That distinction matters more than any certification once you're spending real money, so it's the lens this guide uses.
When the engagement ends, who has the capability? With most agencies the answer is them: the tables, the logic and the know-how leave when they do.
